Let me help you paint your kitchen black. Because who loves the devil?

Pyschonuat 75 does. This group of individuals from Houston, Texas has no problems writing about their feelings on religion and Jesus himself. Very drone is the mood for most of this album. No surprises or uplifting tempo changes. Splashes of samples are abound and greeted with distorted vocals. Lots of moaning and wailing intersperse into tracks as well.

Pyschonaut 75 isn’t re-inventing the wheel here. It is very solid dark Drum “n” Bass influenced Industrial. Very reminiscent of 80′s and early 90′s art industrial bands. Voices are being forced into your head without any real clarity to them. But somehow you can understand them. Which reminds me I need to pick up some lambs blood on my way home tonight.

Track number 9 is the most appealing of the bunch to me. As it was the only one to add anything interesting to the distorted drumlines and synths. In this one the synth line could be mistaken for a guitar line which seems breath a little bit of life into it.

Overall I would give this album a 2.5 out of 5. I would have scored it higher, but all the moaning female lines over the distorted vocals became annoying and blasé. The album isn’t a disappointment nor is it a great advancement. Fans of bands like Scorn would appreciate this album. It goes well with red meat rare, high proof alcohol, chicken bones and plans to open a hell mouth.
