Mmmmm… NIN and Coil. What could be better? This is not only my favorite Nine Inch Nails disc, it is one of my favorite discs of all time.

It is a full-length collection of (mostly) remixes, which normally would be a disaster, but in this case a real treat. The mixes vary from frenetic and violent (e.g. remixes by j.g. thirwell and NIN) to slow and creepy (the coil mixes) to good dance-style IDM remixes (heresy & ruiner remixed by Charlie Clouser).

The only real down side would be the Hurt versions (there are two versions on two different versions of this disc, and both are even painfully slower and more pointless than the album version).

It is frustrating that there are two versions with different tracks – I used to have both, but I have lost my UK import version, which had my favorite Coil remix (erased, over, out).

  1. Not my favourite NIN records (TDS of course), but way the best remix album… The Coil remix of “The Downward Spiral” is amazing.
