Post New stuff at NAMM this year
Message board is too dried up, so let's talk about a couple things at NAMM that are liable to give any of you a giant chubby.

I think without a doubt, hands down, the most exciting product at NAMM )as well as the most exciting thing maybe ever released?) is the UA Apollo.

As a longtime fan of UAD plugins, this is everyting I ever wanted in an audio interface. Now it's time to sell of those UAD-1 cards and put the system back together.

Schmidt Poly synth. This thing is just too much, but it looks sexy and had shit tons of knobs.

Waldorf Pulse 2. Whatever it was that waldorf did that captured so many hearts and minds has been lost to the aether. They may as well be owned by Alesis. Boring products in an even boringer (yes I said boringer) package.

Waldorf, I have a message for you... "turn me on for fucks sake!"

This is for chvad. you need a key controller like this one for your modular

Casio Casio XW-G1 Groove Synthesizer. They may have put "groove" in there to sell more units, but I don't care what it does unless this song is programmed in there

List of dissapointments this year: Moog Minitaur, Arturia Minibrute (what is new about it?), midi controllers: more of the same, Roland everything, and Nord Drum

The ua Apollo looks great, do I have to mortgage the house for it?

It was looking to be about 2200 & 2800 if memory serves... Not too bad considering what you're getting methinks.

I've been eyeing those actually!

DUDE... the Minibrute is THE JAM. Whats new? A multi-mode filter type NOT based on a Moog (love the Moog filter but it is copied a hell of a lot). New fully analogue monosynth for 500. Integrated wavefolder. If THAT isn't enough... MIDI, USB AND CV ins and outs. There is nothing that has existed with this many features at this price point ever. The way this puppy integrates with a modular is just tight. 1 osc? Whatever... pump into other Osc modules into the audio in.. wire up some CV... have as many osc and filter in the signal path you want. The CV upgrade for my little phatty is almost half the cost of this alone sans all the extra goodies. All housed in a metal chassis.

I think this is a pretty sick. My friend pre ordered one... if its as solid as it SEEMS, it might find a nice home in my setup instead of a Phatty with CV upgrade. We'll see. It COULD suck but Im not willing to write it off yet.

The BRUTE was the big one for me. There are a few modules coming out but nothing I'm lusting after.

Waldorf seems SO confused right now. That company cant possibly have any long term goals established. Seems to me they are chasing coat tails rather than cutting new ground.
