20110401_the-qualia-kennysIf the idea of listening to the best synthesizer-driven pop band in New York City at the height of their powers is something that’s attractive to you, we have an offer.

The Qualia. Live at Kenny’s Castaways, Friday, April 1st at 8:30 p.m.

The entire band, Lars Casteen, Chvad SB, Rossen Nedelchev, and Zakai Robbins will be performing what music writers would call “a blistering set of perfect pop songs, punctuated by immaculately orchestrated synthesizer arrangements, carried forward by today’s best rhythm section” if they ever bothered to come to our shows. Don’t make that mistake. Come to our show.

WHEN : Friday, April 1, 8:30 p.m.
WHERE: Kenny’s Castaways, 157 Bleecker in the West Village.
HOW MUCH : 5 measly dollars.

We’re going to be moving on to an after-party shortly after the show, so come early and hang out for the night.

A number of guest vocalists pop in and out of the release which adds even more to the already varied textures and styles. Read More »

SMP/Jason Bazinet has always had an aggressive sound but it’s never been recorded so well as it has here in his latest release. I’ve always been a fan of SMP but “Crimes of the Future” is a stand out recording. The production is fantastic, the songs are varied and are consistently fresh to listen to. Read More »
